It is such a nice day today.  Even though I only got about 2 hours of sleep last night, it feels so good to walk around outside.  God is so good.  The earth declares his glory and perfect provision and it makes me desire to give him praise.

I gotta tell you guys.  It's time to grow up.  So many of us, myself included, give into the temptation to be entertained 24/7.  That is America's goal, to find a way to entertain you.  But, when was the last time you took some time to just think about important things.  Grey's Anatomy, or whatever show you might be obsessed with, is not important.  It's just another distraction.

We all tend to neglect important things simply because we are too distracted.  What's sad is the only time we really think about the important stuff is when something dear to us is taken away.

If it is difficult to be happy right now, examine your priorities and discover what really matters.  Whatever it is that matters to you the most, that's what you have placed your trust in.  So let me ask you this.  Have you put your trust in something worth dying for, because if it isn't worth dying for, it isn't worth living for.

This is my first week of actual in-depth homework.  The merciless war against procrastination has already begun, but I will fight.  I will fight with the passion of a man with a mission, because I am a man with a mission.  The mission to graduate!  I can feel my brain swelling, senses sharper, and eyes squinting (I think I need to buy some glasses).

Anyway, Thermodynamics, Statics, Environmetal Engineering Issues, Graphics Comunication, and World History Before 1500, are the courses to be conquered this Fall, with the help of those closest to me.

Farewell and Good Luck

Nothing is impossible with God

Hey guys.  Classes have kicked back into gear and I'm pumped up ready to study, ready to make me some A's!  This weekend, I'm going to Jackson to see my girl, and to see the first ever NFL game in Jackson MS!  Yeah... It's gonna be a good weekend.  God is good.  I always wonder how God decided to make everything the way that it is.  You ever think about that?  Why did he make the grass green?

Do you think there's grass in heaven.  What about food?  My Mom always told me there won't be food in heaven because our bodies will be perfect, but maybe there will be food and are bodies will be so efficient that we won't ever have to go potty.  Wouldn't that be great?  I don't think the Bible says if there will ot won't be food in heaven.  If any of you have any scripture references to help me resolve this question, please let me know.

What about transportation?  How will we get around in heaven.  I know the Bible says that there wilol be streets of gold?  So, will we have cars of silver?  Or maybe we'll all have a nice set of wings.  That would be great too.

I've always wanted to fly.  I used to dream about running and jumping so high that I flew over cities, and I could use the wind to make myself soar even higher.  It was like the air was thicker or something.  I haven't had those dreams for quite some time though.  I would really enjoy another flying dream.

What do you dream about?  My big sis told me about a dream she had about the end times once.  It  sounded pretty extreme.  I'ld like to dream about something like that.

Read Romans 1:16-32 and let me know you think about it.

Today, I'm headed to the library for the first time in I don't know how long.  It's time to get back in the studying mindset.  I look forward to my classes this Fall and anticipate what I will learn.  I won't have too much on my plate, so I will be able to devote as much time as needed in order to do well.  I aim to have a 4.0 this semester.  I know, it's ambitious, but God desires to use me, and the quicker I get this degree, the quicker I can learn what else God has in store for me.  When I say, "what God has in store for me," it's not really for me at all.  It's for his glory.  He has given me a desire to glorify Him in everything I do and I am thankful, because there really is no point in being vain.  I will die like everyone else sooner or later, so serving myself would just result in death.  That would be my reward for my attempts to please myself.  Don't get me wrong, if I'm not joyful I'm gonna do something about it.  Because joy is a result of being loved, and I am loved by God.  If I am not satisfied with life, I've misunderstood God and the objectives He plans carry out through me.  I believe His main purpose for my life is to bring glory to His name and make his name known among those I interact with.

I have changed my major to Civil Engineering, because I long to encourage those in need oversees who do not have the resources to dig a well, or build a bridge. etc.

Psalm 96

   1 Sing to the LORD a new song;
       sing to the LORD, all the earth.

 2 Sing to the LORD, praise his name;
       proclaim his salvation day after day.

 3 Declare his glory among the nations,
       his marvelous deeds among all peoples.

 4 For great is the LORD and most worthy of praise;
       he is to be feared above all gods.

 5 For all the gods of the nations are idols,
       but the LORD made the heavens.

 6 Splendor and majesty are before him;
       strength and glory are in his sanctuary.

 7 Ascribe to the LORD, O families of nations,
       ascribe to the LORD glory and strength.

 8 Ascribe to the LORD the glory due his name;
       bring an offering and come into his courts.

 9 Worship the LORD in the splendor of his [a] holiness;
       tremble before him, all the earth.

 10 Say among the nations, "The LORD reigns."
       The world is firmly established, it cannot be moved;
       he will judge the peoples with equity.

 11 Let the heavens rejoice, let the earth be glad;
       let the sea resound, and all that is in it;

 12 let the fields be jubilant, and everything in them.
       Then all the trees of the forest will sing for joy;

 13 they will sing before the LORD, for he comes,
       he comes to judge the earth.
       He will judge the world in righteousness
       and the peoples in his truth.
